Low in sugar and packed full of delicious, fresh ingredients, agua fresca is made from fresh fruit, lime juice, water and sweetener. Originating from Mexico, these beverages are a low-calorie, fruity alternative to juice that make them perfect for adults and kids alike.
Feel free to change up this recipe by substituting your favorite fruits or even substituting in vegetables like cucumbers! You can even make this beverage carbonated by adding sparkling water.
Agua Fresca

- strainer
Ingredients
- 4 cups watermelon cubed
- 1 lime juiced
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 3 cups water divided use
Optional Garnishes
- coarse sugar
- mint sprigs
- lime slices
- watermelon wedges
Instructions
- Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth.
- Strain the mixture into a pitcher and discard the solids.
- Add the remaining water to the pitcher and stir completely.
- Chill until ready to serve.
- Add optional garnishes and enjoy!
