Dairy is a way of life here in Wisconsin, rooted in family, tradition and stewardship. Wisconsin has been a leader in dairy longer than it has been recognized as a state, making it no wonder we are recognized as America’s Dairyland. 99% of Wisconsin dairy farms are family-owned, with multiple generations often working side-by-side to preserve their family’s legacy.
Dairy provides $52.8 billion to Wisconsin’s economy each year – more than the combined value of Florida citrus and Idaho potatoes. The industry also supports more than 120,000 jobs, many in rural communities where family farms are integral to local life.
