Wisconsin cherry season has arrived in Door County! If you have found yourself with an abundance of cherries are are looking for new cherry recipes to try this summer, look no further than this Wisconsin Cherry Salsa recipe.

Last year, we had the opportunity to meet up with cherry growers, Terry and Toni Sorenson. This opportunity showed us the sustainability behind Door County cherries and how growers work hard to reduce their environmental impact.

Cherry trees were first planted in Door County in 1896 and have since grown into a major attraction for locals and tourists alike! This little fruit has a massive impact on Wisconsin’s agricultural economy, growing over 10 million pounds of fruit in 2023, valued at $2 million. This impact goes well beyond the fruit itself, having influence on employment, tourism and other businesses that rely on the cherry growing season.

Take a moment to celebrate cherry season by blending sweet and savory with this delicious cherry salsa!
